We make your appliance out of the finest materials available - all from reputable medical device companies that produce their products in the US, maintain the highest manufacturing standards and meticulously ensure efficacy and biocompatibility. In addition, our lab is equipped with the latest technology and we follow best practices in dental appliance fabrication.

So you should expect your appliance to have excellent performance and reliability, and we guarantee that everything we produce has exactly that.

There are however some basic steps you should take (and things you should avoid) to properly care for your appliance and ensure the best use out of it.

Cleaning

  • Cleaning your appliance will keep it free of bacteria and prevent damage.
  • Use a soft toothbrush and mild soap and water to brush your appliance. Ideally, do this after each use. Simple dish soap is an ideal detergent to use with your appliance.
  • Thoroughly rinse the appliance to remove all detergent.
  • You can use other solutions such as a 15% concentration of bleach or a 3% peroxide solution. Do not use stronger concentrations of these chemicals.
  • You can use denture tablets such as Polident or Efferdent as needed to freshen up your appliance.
  • Do not leave your guard soaking in any solution for more than 1 hour.
  • Use of ultrasonic devices for cleaning is fine as long as the guard is not left in the ultrasonic bath for extended periods.

Storage

  • Dry your appliance before storage.
  • Keep your device in a dry environment at room temperature.
  • Do not leave your guard soaking in any solution for more than 1 hour (yes, we're saying it again 😉 ).

General

  • Periodically inspect your appliance for signs of damage or excessive wear. For example, if you notice that your night guard has completely worn through in some places, it will no longer reliably protect you from issues related to teeth grinding. In this case, replace the appliance as soon as possible.
  • If the night guard is chipped or broken in any places, even if not worn through, it is safer to replace it so any potentially sharp edges don’t cause injury.
